My first post.
Is it just me, or does it seem like certain designers will tack the name "Lolita" to ANYTHING to get it to sell?

Perfect example: "Velvet Lolita skirt". : http://www.todiefordesigns.com/Shop/Product/product.php?p=109&g=5&sa=0

And here's the top, also designated 'Lolita'. http://www.todiefordesigns.com/Shop/Product/product.php?p=108&g=5&sa=0

These clothes are made of fail, IMO.

I agree. Their vinyl stuff is pretty horrendous, and this? http://www.todiefordesigns.com/Shop/Product/product.php?p=107&g=3&sa=0

Looks cheap, and not flattering at all. Definitely not worth 175$. The only thing I saw that looks decent at all was http://www.todiefordesigns.com/Shop/Product/product.php?p=131&g=3&sa=0 but even then it has a kind of costumey feel to it.

Wow. You're right. How can they call that Lolita? They obviously know nothing of the fashion culture itself. That's not even Gothic Aristocrat...it's something else entirely. XP

First, all of you need to learn that the term lolita has been around for a very long time, before this scene was created.

If a designer used the term lolita it doesn't mean EGA or EGL.
A designer has the freedom to name their clothing what ever they want.

ashmodai - To Die For Designs uses high quality thick PVC, better than the clothing you probably purchase on EBAY.
And the gown you complain about the price a is a fully length lace and satin layered dress that is fully boned!

mach2kudou, blasphemina - you are insulting me personally. I am not old, I am a professional model. What is with the mask - it is called being creative. Why would anyone where a mask ever then?

All of the clothing by To Die For Designs are high quality items, made with fantasitc material - not halloween items.

-sigh- poor goth, how it has suffered. http://www.todiefordesigns.com/Shop/Product/product.php?p=135&g=5&sa=0
There needs to be a goth revival, and not cheap skank fetish goth either.

As for the lolita aspect.. it just fails for obvious reasons

Legal action.... against citing an opinion? OMG you are so wrong. You cant sue someone for writing an opinion on the internet. Chill out. It offended you? So what. Thats the chance you take for publishing you items. Get over it.

You cant take legal action for offending someone with your opinion.

"I am not old, I am a professional model."

Then I think its time to retire.... You look like you're 60 in that picture.

"A designer has the freedom to name their clothing what ever they want"

True... and consumer... like us... have the right to make fun of it...when ever we want.

"All of the clothing by To Die For Designs are high quality items"

Then why in like half of your photos... do your armholes not fit the models arms properly.... Your clothing is obviously made by an inferior seamstress.
